ABC provides our site with scrap steel recycling, as well as steel grinding media sorting. They remove wood waste from site and deliver rubber waste to a holding location on site. As a mine, we generate a lot of waste wood, rubber and steel. The benefit to the mine is that we can use the revenue generated with the scrap steel to offset the costs around the other waste streams by having them provide these services. We’ve been collaborating with ABC since the spring of 2023, and they’ve consistently impressed us with their quick response, especially for larger jobs like Old Mining Shovel removal. About the Lummi Nation – The Lummi Nation are an American tribe of the Coast Salish ethnolinguistic group. They are based in the coastal area of the Pacific Northwest region of Washington State. The Lummi Indian Reservation is located to the west of Bellingham and is 32 km south of the Canadian border.

We have a robust preventative maintenance program for all our equipment to ensure we are always safe and fully operational.

We have developed unique working relationships with MARR and IZWTAG that adds value to their operation and the communities we service.

In 2019, we participated in the United Way Social Purpose (SP) Innovator’s program. It is an innovative approach that both strengthens the context in which a company does business and positively impacts our community – a good for everyone.

ABC’s Green Team is made up of a group of employees who volunteer to educate, inspire and empower employees about sustainability. The goal is to reduce the amount of waste that we produce and we hope team members will take these practices home with them.
